Ciao
Welcome to Fitdiggity
My name is Chris Giovagnoni. I'm the man behind the movement here–a long-time endurance runner and cyclist (30+ years), credentialed as a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer since 2023 and a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach since 2024. I also hold NASM specializations in Corrective Exercise and Performance Enhancement and have a little Cavapoo pup named Nina.
After decades of training to get faster and stronger at running and cycling, I began to notice my fitness wasn’t showing up in my daily life. I could run a half marathon in 90 minutes, a 5K in 20 minutes, and deliver 250 watts on the bike for 20 minutes at a time—but I was losing bone density and upper‑body muscle mass from countless hours in the saddle. My grip strength—a powerful, evidence‑based marker for longevity and overall health—was nowhere to be found. I had limited range of motion in my neck and low‑back pain that dogged me since 2014. The former made it uncomfortable to check my blind spot while driving, and the latter made it hateful to bend over, sit on the couch to watch TV with my family, or stand for any length of time.
Because of this, my athletic focus shifted from chasing numbers and my younger self to building functional fitness, training efficient and proper movement patterns, reclaiming my mobility, improving my balance, improving how I felt physically day-to-day, and challenging the conventional wisdom about aging.
I’ve lived the injuries and the changes in performance and capability. I met—and rejected—the lie that my experience was unavoidable and just "normal aging." Much of what we consider normal aging is actually accelerated aging, driven by modern convenience and the lifestyle habits it has created, which means we can influence it.
Research continues to show that aging is highly affected and manageable through resistance training, proper nutrition, interval training, and "exercise snacks." My goal is to translate this research into practical training and lifestyle behaviors that improve your performance, redefine your capabilities, and improve your daily life.
I’ve experienced the power of rebuilding. I know firsthand how much good movement matters. I’ve experienced how targeted strength, core strength, balance, mobility, and movement training can restore function, reduce discomfort, and significantly improve quality of life. Helping you experience the same is deeply motivating and meaningful to me.
My approach to training is supportive, educational, and collaborative. I want to teach you why you’re doing each movement, how it affects your body and applies to your life. I don’t just want you fitter—I want you smarter.
I emphasize mobility, core strength, balance, and healthy eating, layered on a base of resistance training, aerobic exercise, and high‑intensity interval training, as determined by your goals, interests, and fitness level. Every program is personalized and can accommodate the demands in your life. Every movement is adaptable and applied within a structured yet flexible plan. The focus is on measurable progress over time—not intensity for its own sake. Consistency over the long term is more important than perfect adherence to a plan.
I will push you, challenge you, and help reset what you think you’re capable of—while also helping you integrate movement into each day in ways that take fitness beyond the gym and exercise from a “to‑do” into a lifestyle behaviors as comfortable and regular as brushing your teeth.
You don’t need to be fit to start, and you don’t need to "get in shape first." You’re not too old, too stiff, too busy, or too far behind to get started. I will help you build strength, move well, and feel better—starting exactly from where you are.
And if you are fit, functional, and fast, I’ll help you get to your ‑er.
